1. Families request a booking via our booking form on the website, email or text (family must have 1 booking in the system already to use text/email option).
2. Nannysitters will check the booking details and if everything looks okay, we will post your request to our awesome roster of nannies.
3. Interested nannies will “Accept” the shift - this will automatically send you an email with the nannies profile, which includes a brief bio and a photo.
4. Families can confirm the nanny directly via email, or reply to the email and request a different nanny, depending on availability.
5. Once a nanny is confirmed, the booking fee will be charged to the credit card on file.
6. On the day of your event the nanny will show up approximately 10 minutes before the requested start time. Nannies will get paid directly from the families after the booking (either cash, or e-transfer)
While we do not post shifts to our nannies more than 1 month in advance, you can always put the request in our system, and we will check in with you again before we launch. We cannot guarantee to fill last minute requests but we will always try to help you. The ideal time for casual babysitting is 1-2 weeks in advance. For events we would like as much notice as possible as we normally need multiple nannies and to ensure we have sufficient coverage, supplies & activities ready.
Yes, we do offer Overnight bookings and extended stays! There is a flat rate of $75 between 9pm to 7am, unless children are awake and need assistance, the regular hourly rate applies.
All Overnight bookings must be booked with a 6 hour minimum shift at regular rate. This can be before or after the flat rate hours, or a combination.

Yes! While our main area is the Okanagan - Vernon to Penticton (including Big White) we are happy to discuss with you options and pricing for areas outside of this area.
Yes, you can! Please use the notes/comment field and name the nanny you would prefer and we will check with them first for their availability. If they are unavailable we will check in with you again to see if you want us to launch the shift to all nannies, or reschedule for when your nanny is available again.
If you are not happy with your proposed nanny, please reach out to Nannysitters via text or email and we are happy to look for another available nanny.
If you no longer require a nanny, please use the "Cancel booking" option in the confirmation email.
No, unless specifically requested, the nannies will not make contact with your family until they show up for their shift. If you would like the nanny to reach out to you prior to your booking, please reach out to us and we can help accommodate.
Families should pay their nanny immediately after each shift, either via cash or e-transfer.
The Agency Fee will get charged once you confirmed our proposed nanny directly to the credit card on file.
Typically 5-15 minutes is all that is needed for the nanny to get a good picture of what is required. If your children need more time to warm up to new people, you may want to plan a little more time for a handover. This will help your children to become comfortable with the nanny.
The younger the children, the better it is that nannies have a guideline to ensure as little disruption to their regular schedule as possible. Meal times and wind down/nap times help to ensure that the children are as happy/comfortable as possible. Families can also send these schedules to us so we can have them on file for future bookings, then the family doesn’t have to share it every time.
Yes, our nannies can either transport children in your vehicle or in their personal vehicle. Please note that whenever possible the family should install carseats. Please review the rates page.
